Chrome and Firefox

This guide explains how to configure Evomi proxies in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, both manually through system settings and using browser extensions for easier management.

Chrome

Manual Configuration

Chrome uses your operating system’s proxy settings. Changing them affects all browsers and applications that rely on system proxy configuration.

Windows:

  1. Open Chrome and go to Settings > System > Open your computer’s proxy settings.
  2. Under Manual proxy setup, toggle Use a proxy server to On.
  3. Enter the Evomi proxy address and port:
    • Address: rp.evomi.com
    • Port: 1000
  4. Click Save.
  5. When you visit a website, Chrome will prompt you for your proxy username and password.

macOS:

  1. Open Chrome and go to Settings > System > Open your computer’s proxy settings.
  2. In the Network preferences panel, select your active connection and click Advanced.
  3. Go to the Proxies tab.
  4. Check Web Proxy (HTTP) and enter:
    • Server: rp.evomi.com
    • Port: 1000
  5. Check Proxy server requires password and enter your Evomi credentials.
  6. Click OK > Apply.
ℹ️
System-level proxy settings do not natively support SOCKS5 in Chrome. For SOCKS5 or more granular control, use a browser extension.

Using ZeroOmega (Recommended Extension)

ZeroOmega (also known as “Proxy SwitchyOmega 3”) is the maintained successor to the original SwitchyOmega extension. It supports HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, and SOCKS5 proxies with authentication.

  1. Install ZeroOmega from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click the ZeroOmega icon in the toolbar and select Options.
  3. In the left sidebar, click New Profile and name it Evomi.
  4. Configure the profile:
    • Protocol: Select HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS5
    • Server: rp.evomi.com
    • Port: 1000 (HTTP), 1001 (HTTPS), or 1002 (SOCKS5)
  5. Under the lock icon or Authentication, enter your Evomi username and password.
  6. Click Apply changes in the left sidebar.
  7. Click the ZeroOmega icon in the toolbar and switch to your Evomi profile.
  8. Verify at https://ip.evomi.com/s.

To stop using the proxy, click the ZeroOmega icon and switch back to Direct or System Proxy.

Firefox

Manual Configuration

Firefox has its own proxy settings, independent of the operating system.

  1. Open Firefox and go to Settings.
  2. Search for proxy in the search bar at the top.
  3. Click Settings… next to Network Settings.
  4. Select Manual proxy configuration.
  5. Enter the Evomi proxy address:
    • HTTP Proxy: rp.evomi.com | Port: 1000
    • Check Also use this proxy for HTTPS
    • Or for SOCKS5: leave HTTP fields empty and enter under SOCKS Host: rp.evomi.com | Port: 1002, select SOCKS v5
  6. Click OK.
  7. Firefox will prompt you for your proxy username and password on the first request.

Using FoxyProxy (Recommended Add-on)

FoxyProxy Standard is an actively maintained Firefox add-on for managing proxy configurations with rule-based switching.

  1. Install FoxyProxy Standard from Firefox Add-ons.
  2. Click the FoxyProxy icon in the toolbar and select Options.
  3. Click Add to create a new proxy entry.
  4. Fill in the proxy details:
    • Title: Evomi
    • Type: HTTP or SOCKS5
    • Hostname: rp.evomi.com
    • Port: 1000 (HTTP) or 1002 (SOCKS5)
    • Username: Your Evomi username
    • Password: Your Evomi password, e.g. your_password_session-anychars_mode-speed
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click the FoxyProxy icon and select your Evomi proxy to activate it.
  7. Verify at https://ip.evomi.com/s.

Tips and Troubleshooting

  • Disable when not in use: Always switch back to a direct connection or disable the proxy extension when you are done.
  • Credential prompts: With manual configuration, browsers will prompt for credentials on the first request. Extensions like ZeroOmega and FoxyProxy handle authentication automatically.
  • SOCKS5 in Chrome: Chrome does not support SOCKS5 through system proxy settings. Use ZeroOmega for SOCKS5 support.
  • Password format: Your Evomi password includes session and mode parameters, e.g. your_password_session-anychars_mode-speed. Enter the full string as your password.
  • Incognito/Private mode: Extensions may need explicit permission to run in incognito/private windows. Check the extension settings to enable this.
