Proxy Pools
Evomi residential Proxies offer a filtering process of the IPs that are used in the pool. The pool can be used in 3 different modes, which affect the size, speed, and quality of the pool. This is to ensure our proxy pool can give you the best results for your use case.
While certain customers may prefer a larger pool with more IPs, others may prefer a smaller pool with higher quality IPs. The mode you choose will depend on your specific needs.
Modes
Standard Mode
The standard mode is the default mode for our residential proxy pool. It offers the largest pool size, which gives you access to all of our residential IPs. This is ideal, if your target blocks IPs fast, or you need a large number of IPs for your task.
To activate this mode, no additional parameters are required as it is the default mode.
Speed Mode
In this mode, you will only receive the fastest IPs in our pool. This is good when you need to transfer larger amounts of data or need the lowest success rates. When doing time sensitive tasks, this mode is recommended. The pool size is smaller than the standard mode.
To activate this mode, add the mode-speed
parameter to your proxy password.
An example would be proxypassword_session-123456_country-US_mode-speed
Quality Mode
In this mode, you will only receive the highest quality IPs in our pool. These IPs are fast and have a low block rate. Most of these IPs will be unblocked from pages like google and have the lowest chance to trigger any captcha. The pool size is the smallest of all modes.
To activate this mode, add the mode-quality
parameter to your proxy password.
An example would be proxypassword_session-123456_country-US_mode-quality
When to use which mode
The choice of mode depends on your specific use case and requirements. Here’s a table to help guide your decision:
Mode | Pool Size | Speed | Quality | Best For |
---|---|---|---|---|
Standard | Largest | Good | Good | - General purpose scraping - Tasks requiring a large IP pool - Targets that block IPs quickly |
Speed | Medium | Best | Good | - Time-sensitive tasks - Transferring large amounts of data - Tasks requiring low latency |
Quality | Smallest | Best | Best | - Accessing sites with strict anti-bot measures - Tasks requiring low block rates - Avoiding CAPTCHAs |
Guidelines for choosing a mode:
-
Use Standard mode when:
- You need access to the largest possible pool of IPs
- Your target website frequently blocks IPs
- You’re doing general-purpose scraping across various websites
-
Use Speed mode when:
- You’re working with time-sensitive data
- You need to transfer large amounts of data quickly
- Your tasks require the lowest possible latency
-
Use Quality mode when:
- You’re targeting websites with sophisticated anti-bot systems
- You need to minimize the chances of encountering CAPTCHAs
- Your tasks require a very low block rate
Remember, you can always start with one mode and switch to another if you find it’s not meeting your needs. Our flexible system allows you to adapt to different scenarios easily.
