Proxifier on macOS

This guide provides instructions on how to configure Proxifier on macOS to use Evomi’s residential proxies. We recommend using the quality mode for optimal performance in this setup.

Prerequisites

  • Proxifier installed on your macOS machine.
  • An active Evomi residential proxy account.

Step-by-Step Configuration

1. Launch Proxifier

Open Proxifier by clicking on its icon in the Applications folder or searching for it using Spotlight.

2. Add a New Proxy Server

  • Go to Proxifier > Preferences or press ⌘,.
  • In the Preferences window, select the Proxies tab.
  • Click the Add button (+) at the bottom to add a new proxy server.

3. Enter Evomi Proxy Details

In the Edit Proxy Server window, fill in the following details:

  • Address: rp.evomi.com
  • Port: 1000 (for HTTP connections)

Protocol: Select HTTP from the dropdown menu.

4. Enable Authentication

  • Check the box “Enable authentication”.
  • Enter your Evomi Username and Password.

Note: Your password should include the _mode-quality parameter to activate quality mode if you’re using residential proxies.

Replace:

  • yourpassword with your actual Evomi password.
  • 123456 with any session identifier you prefer.

5. Test the Proxy Server

  • Click on the Check button.
  • Ensure that the connection test is successful.
  • Click OK to save the proxy server settings.

6. Configure Proxification Rules

  • In the Preferences window, select the Rules tab.
  • Click the Add button (+) at the bottom to add a new rule.

In the Rule settings:

  • Applications: Leave as Any or specify the applications you want to route through the proxy.
  • Targets: Leave as Any or define specific target domains or IP addresses.
  • Action: Select Proxy and choose the Evomi proxy you just added.

Click OK to save the rule.

7. Apply and Restart

  • Ensure that Proxifier is running.
  • Restart any applications that need to use the proxy to ensure they pick up the new settings.

Evomi Proxy Endpoints

Use the correct endpoint and port based on the Evomi product you’re using.

Residential Proxies (Recommended)

  • HTTP Proxy: rp.evomi.com:1000
  • HTTPS Proxy: rp.evomi.com:1001
  • SOCKS5 Proxy: rp.evomi.com:1002

Using Quality Mode

For tasks that require high-quality IPs with low block rates, use quality mode.

Proxy Password Format:

yourpassword_session-123456_mode-quality
  • yourpassword: Your Evomi account password.
  • session-123456: Optional session identifier.
  • mode-quality: Activates quality mode. (Only available for residential proxies)

Example:

mysecretpassword_session-abc123_mode-quality

Tips and Troubleshooting

  • Incorrect Credentials: Double-check your username and password for typos.
  • Connection Issues: Ensure your firewall or security settings are not blocking Proxifier.
  • Authentication Failed: Make sure your password includes the mode-quality parameter.
  • Change Modes: To switch modes, adjust the mode- parameter in your password (mode-speed, mode-standard).

  • Pool Size: Largest

  • Usage: General scraping, large IP pool needs.
  • Activation: Default mode (no additional parameter).

Speed Mode

  • Pool Size: Medium
  • Speed: Best
  • Quality: Good
  • Usage: Time-sensitive tasks, large data transfers.
  • Activation: Add mode-speed to your password.

Quality Mode (Recommended)

  • Pool Size: Smallest
  • Speed: Best
  • Quality: Best
  • Usage: Accessing strict sites, avoiding CAPTCHAs.
  • Activation: Add _mode-quality to your password.
